Writers Club: January

Happy 2019, folx! We’re into it - fresh starts and new beginnings. But remember that new year doesn’t have to mean new you, because you are already perfect and exactly where you need to be.

We’re taking our journal prompt from a question we saw over on We Are Not Really Strangers’ instagram account (check them out, some heavy deep feelings occur over there on a daily basis!). So, in the interest of celebrating what already exists deep within us…

What would you never want to change about yourself?

We can often spend a lot of time journaling about things we want to alter - whether that’s making change in the world to ensure it’s a safer, more inclusive community, breaking old habits that have had toxic effects on our lives, or constantly trying to do more, be better, strive for perfection. How about we humble brag for a hot sec about all the things that we already have that make us rad human beings? We know it’s hard (trust, it took a week to come to terms with this question and to even think about journaling about it!) - but as always, dig deep and find out.

Soundtrack vibes come in the form of newcomer from the UK, Arlo Parks: POC, just 18 years old, and stepping out into the world owning her sexuality and freedom like the empowered womxn that she is.

You can submit your piece below if you have it typed up, or snap a photo of it and email it to journal@girlvanayoga.com, just be sure we can read it all. You choose whether you want author cred or if you’d rather submit anonymously. Just be sure to send it through before January 31st.
